Nokia Lumia 1020: The best Nokia phone by now?
Picking a new phone has never been harder; with so many handsets on the market at the minute deciding what we want and need is often a very difficult decision. A Smartphone is now a big investment and ensuring you invest in mobile phone insurance is a must.
Nowadays it is hard to keep up with the Smartphone market with new releases appearing on the shelves every other week. Nokia supports the Windows Phone and the new Lumia 1020 is no different. Nokia’s first Windows phone was released in late 2011 and since then the brand has dominated Microsoft’s mobile systems. What we want to know is what’s different about the Lumia 1020, and is it the best Nokia handset so far? Here’s what we think!
Nokia has worked hard to make this Windows Phone stand out, and it does just that. The phone company have courageously added colour to the hardware design making it stand out from the typical black, white and gray Smartphone on the market. Nokia have developed specially designed Lumia apps exclusively available to Lumia models, which gives it added value. The new operating system with firmware updates like Amber ensures that this Nokia model is the brands best yet.
Pure View Camera
Cameras now are a huge part of our mobile device and play a massive element in how we judge a handset. The imaging on this handset is impressive to say the least. The ‘Pure View’ camera, as they have named it comes with an unbelievable 41- megapixel lens, f/2.2 aperture and a whopping 1.5 inch image sensor. The camera quality is so high that you can zoom into images after they’ve been taken without losing any detail or creating pixelation. Its low light performance is excellent and surpasses the quality of any camera handset even the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the iPhone 5S.
Display and Design
Unfortunately, Windows Phones don’t yet support full HD displays. However the Lumia 1020 does boast a 4.5 inch, 1280 x 768 AMOLED display. Nokia has integrated Pure Motion HD + and high brightness mode technologies onto the device, this insures a high-resolution display, better than any previous Nokia model.
Battery, Connectivity and Storage
We all know how constant use on our Smartphone can be exhausting to their battery life. Nokia Lumia’s, 2000mAh battery successfully powers through the day with intensive usage. You’ll get between 12 and 13 hours battery life from constant texting, calling, imaging, gaming and web browsing, this is pretty much in line with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5S. The Lumia 1020 is powered by an impressive 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and 2GB of RAM. The phone comes in two storage variants, users can opt for 32GB or 64GB, there is no 16GB option, and this means a higher costing device. The Lumia 1020 is fully connected and provides full support for 4G, NFC and wireless charging. We give all these specs the thumbs up!
Do we think that this is the best Nokia phone yet? Definitely, and it is certainly up there with the very best on the Smartphone market at the minute.
